The Tell-Tale Halloween Party at WJCT on Monday, October 30th, 2017

Celebrate Halloween in style! The WJCT Gen Listeners team is throwing a free Halloween party for young public media fans on the First Coast. Join us Monday, October 30 from 7-9 p.m. at WJCT Studios for this viewing and listening party featuring a 20-minute preview of the upcoming PBS documentary Edgar Allan Poe: Buried Alive and bite-sized video and radio stories from the world of public media. Free registration required: wjcthalloweenparty.eventbrite.com This is a costume party, so dressing up is strongly encouraged! We’ll be giving away prizes for the best costumes. Just keep it fun and not too spooky! Complimentary snacks and drinks will be provided throughout the evening, including beer courtesy of our friends at Bold City Brewery (21+ — ID required) and gourmet ice pops from our friends at The Hyppo Jacksonville. FAQs: Q: What are the age or ID requirements for this event? A: Guests should be 18+ to attend and 21+ to drink. We will check IDs, so bring one if you plan to drink! Q: What will this event be like? A: If you’ve ever gathered with friends to watch television at a ‘watch party,’ this is the same concept. We’ll watch a preview of the new PBS documentary on Edgar Allan Poe and watch/listen to other cool content from the world of public media. We’re also giving away prizes for the best costumes as decided on by our judges! Q: What should I bring? A: Bring yourself — and maybe a friend! You need to register, but a hard copy of your ticket is not required at the door. You may also make a donation to support WJCT and future events like this one. Q: How many tickets can I reserve? If I bring a friend, do they need a ticket? A: You need to register here at Eventbrite, but you do not need to bring a physical copy of your ticket. If you are bringing a friend (or nine), you only need to register once. Just select the number of tickets you’d like to reserve. You can reserve as many tickets as you like, but we ask that you cancel any tickets if you or a member of your party have a change of plans and are no longer able to attend. Q: I have a question that isn’t answered here. What should I do? A: Email Brad at bstephenson[at]wjct.org.
